Funny that my first blog was about Colquitt and the Land Between the Rivers. A group of developers from Dallas/Ft Worth are planning to create an intergenerational community on a tract of land that borders Spring Creek. It is called the Porches at Spring Creek in the Land Between the Rivers. It will have something for everyone. For nature lovers there is the nature preserve bordering the Creek. There are ancient cypress, magnolias, long leaf pines oaks and willows as well as native wild flowers. For athletes, the tennis courts, soft ball fields, exercise paths and soccer field are a stone’s throw from the front door. For intergenerational families, parents, grand-parents and children can enjoy the park and the nature preserve. The Colquitt town Sqaure is within walking distance. Building a sense of Community will be a focus as porches on the fornt and back of each house reach out to neighbors. Community meeting space and activities which bring people together will be available. The sense of place which is sadly lacking in modern life will be available.
